When I was installing home theater equipment into our new home’s theater room, I opted for the Denon AVR 3311. It was my hope that this home theater networking receiver would work well with the new 60-inch flat screen HDTV we just bought and that the entire room would really come together for a true home theater experience.

I had never bought a networking receiver before the Denon AVR 3311, so this was a new experience for me. Our previous home did not have a home theater room, but rather we just used our 52-inch TV in our living room for our family entertainment. So I had a lot to learn about networking receivers in general before I bought this receiver. I spent several weeks researching how these devices worked and which features were best for them before I decided move forward and buy this one. I also read various consumer reviews and compared this one against other options on the market. Ultimately, after all of my research, the Denon AVR 3311 ci was my choice.

So Why Did I Choose the Denon AVR 3311?

There were a few different things that attracted me to the Denon AVR 3311 over other models. For one, the receiver is loaded with inputs and outputs. This means that you can run a lot of your gadgets through it and you can really enjoy a turnkey system. It had the power and capability to accept all of our DVD players, gaming systems, a computer, TiVo, and more without a problem. We did not want to feel limited at all by what we could do with our home theater, and this device had the capability to handle the gear we had and even add more over time.

Of course, price was a consideration as well when I bought the receiver. As I mentioned, we had just purchased a new home, and we still had several rooms in the home to decorate as well as plans to improve the exterior landscaping and add a resort-style pool, too. So I really wanted to find a product that would handle the tasks we needed it to without having an exorbitant price tag. The receiver is pretty much a middle of the road device when it comes to price, yet it is fully functional for my needs. So the decision to buy the Denon AVR 3311 was pretty much a no-brainer.

So What Has Been My Experience Owning the Denon AVR 3311?

It has been about six months since the Denon AVR 3311 arrived, and I have been really happy with how it has performed for us. I will be honest, though, it took me a little while to figure out how to use it fully. I am not technically inclined, so I really had to sit down and read the instruction manual that it came with. The manual was well-written, though, and I was able to get everything hooked up and installed, and I have not had an issue using the receiver since then.

We currently really use the Denon AVR 3311 quite a bit. We run all of our devices through it including our Satellite radio, our TiVo, our DVD player, a Mac computer, and more. It truly has input devices for all of these things, and it has outputs available for more if we want to add to our home theater experience later on. This functionality was critical to us, and the Denon AVR 3311 hasn’t let me down in that regard.

Then, of course, there is the sound quality. With its pre-amps already built in, the Denon AVR 3311 ci actually has a high quality sound already included. Yet I was going for the full theater experience, so I plugged in the 6 ohm load speakers that we have, and the sound is amazing. I really could not be happier with the sound quality this device puts off.For the price, the Denon has been an excellent buy, and I do think that going up in price to a more expensive model would not have resulted in too much of a difference in quality to make the higher price worthwhile. So this has been a wonderful purchase. I did buy our Denon AVR 3311 online. I found a model at a local retail store, but in comparing it to a retailer online with a good reputation, the local retail store price was exorbitant. I saved quite a bit of money buying my device online, and an additional benefit is that I did not have to leave my house to do the shopping. I ordered it online from my laptop and had the device shipped right to my front do or. I love it when shopping is easy like that!

So if you are considering buying the Denon AVR 3311, I would recommend that you read through all of the specs that this device features and do some price shopping online. I spent just a few minutes shopping online and saved a considerable amount of money for my efforts. If you are like me, you will want to plan to spend a little bit of time learning how to use the device once it arrives at your house, but if you are really technically inclined, you may be fine just plugging the cords in and running with it. This is a fabulous buy, and I really do recommend it to anyone with a home theater.
